Continued the body prep.
 |
Saturday
- The trunk lid was in very sorry shape. The bottom
and corners were rusted away. My parts car trunk lid
was in worse shape so I decided to fix the one I have.
 |
|
 |
-
I cut out the completely rusted out sections
leaving behind some areas that could help support the body
filler.
-
I then sand blasted what was left and
sprayed the inner surfaces with rust inhibiting automotive
primer.
|
|

-
I tack welded in new sheet metal.
-
Ground down the welds, cleaned with
acetone, and filled with good quality body putty.
|
|

Approximately 8 hours latter and the above is
the result.
This is the last major piece of body repair.
The remaining work is spot fill and minor cosmetic repairs. |
